While administering the Power BI implementation I assembled, I decided to begin educating my users towards a bit of self-service. It took a little time to decide the exact path to follow, which turned out to be simply writing about it.
My goal was to offer a simple learning path for my 75 or so end users, who had very little experience beyond basic Excel, in an effort to help them become more familiar with what I perceive as a better alternative to that often clunky and awkward application. For me, Excel is the equivalent of Lotus 1-2-3. It was good for its time, but that time has passed.
The result is series of short articles dubbed "Power BI Snacks." I had no idea that someone else had already started a similar series, until about half-way along. However, those articles, written by Mina Saad, are geared towards a bit more advanced user though. Admittedly, I hijacked a few of his graphics, but none of his snacks; all are my own.
Listed below are the 20 distinct lessons that walk a user through the basics of creating a simple report in the Power BI Service. They are published here under the Power BI tag, as will future "snax," which are then re-posted over to my Storyline in Microsoft Teams.
